Gauges across Albertville recorded an average of 3.01 inches of precipitation including 1.9 inches of snow in February.

Five of six Community Collabora-tive Rain, Hail & Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) stations in Albertville reported at least 1.5 inches of snow.

February’s CoCoRaHS station precipitation reports in inches were:

• Hunter Gap Road — 3.31 (snow, trace);

• Alabama 205 — 3.43 (snow, 2.5);

• June Street — 3.22 (snow, 2.2);

• Laura Mae Lane — 2.86 (snow, 2);

• County Road 372 — 2.77 (snow, 1.5); and

• East McCord Avenue — 2.45 (snow, 3.2).

A Douglas station at Oakwood Village Drive reported 3.61 inches of precipitation including 2 inches of snow.

The Weather Channel

The Weather Channel reported 3.3 inches of precipitation in Albertville and Boaz for February. The average is 5.01.

TWC also reported eight of 28 days with rain.

The high temperature for February was 70 degrees. The average high for the month was 55. The all-time record is 82.

The low for February was 19 degrees. The average low for the month was 32. The all-time record is minus 2.

Other sources

Crossville’s Sand Mountain Research and Extension Center reported 2.62 inches for February, well below the 25-year average. The 25-year average is 5.32. The center is located at 13112 Alabama 68.

Albertville Regional Airport’s automated weather observing system reported 1.68 inches in February. The high temp at the airport for the month was 68, the low 21.

A cooperative observer at the Boaz Fire Department reported 2.75 inches for the month, a National Weather Service official said.
