3 injured in Boaz accident

Published November 14, 2009

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of McVille Road and Sparks Avenue on Thursday afternoon, Boaz police reported.

The accident happened about 4:35 p.m.

The report said Boaz resident Donna Kay Massey, driving a 1997 Dodge 1500 pickup, was traveling east on Sparks Avenue and attempted to turn left onto McVille Road when her vehicle collided with a 2008 Nissan Altima driven by Tommy Wayne Gortney, of Crossville.

Massey, Gortney and passenger Byron M. Burns, of Crossville, were transported to Marshall Medical Center South, where they were all treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
