BREAKING NEWS: AHSAA sets reclassification

Published November 5, 2009

The AHSAA’s Central Board of Control approved the 2010-12 classification during its Wednesday morning meeting in Montgomery.

Three teams in The Reporter’s coverage area will move up — Crossville to Class 4A, Geraldine to Class 3A and Asbury to Class 2A.

Crossville will be a 4A for the first time in school history.

For Geraldine, it will be its second time as a 3A school. The Bulldogs were also a 3A from 2006-08.

It will be Asbury’s first foray into the 2A ranks.

The other teams in The Reporter’s coverage area remained in the same classifications as 2008-10: 5A Albertville, 5A Boaz, 4A Douglas, 4A Guntersville, 3A Sardis and 2A West End.
