Three burglaries in Boaz net four TVs

Thieves targeted televisions during a two-day, pre-Christmas spree, stealing four TVs from three homes.
Boaz police are investigating a total of six thefts reported from Thursday to Saturday, including the three home burglaries, according to Chief Terry Davis.
On Thursday, a resident at 132 George Washington Drive reported the theft of two flat-screen TVs, jewelry and other items from her home, totaling more than $4,100 in value.
The same day, a resident at 1409 Blanche Drive reported the theft of a 25-inch Magnavox TV, a maple curio cabinet, home interior pictures, two mirrors, two etched drawings, a mahogany cabinet, two Skil saws, a band saw and a drill press from his home, totaling $1,650 in value.
On Friday, a resident at 510 Highland St. reported the theft of a 42-inch Vizio flat-screen TV, valued at $1,000, from her home. Damage to a screen door is estimated at $10.

On Saturday, a Dawson woman reported the break-in of her 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante while parked at TJs Sports Grill. Stolen items included a purse with cash and a checkbook. Estimated value of the theft is $250.
On Friday, an Albertville woman reported someone had cut off a catalytic convertor, valued at $750, from her vehicle while parked at Marshall Medical Center South.
On Thursday, a Boaz woman reported the break-in of her 1991 Mazda Miata while parked at the Boaz Outlet Center. Two Sony 6-by-9 speakers, valued at $80, were stolen from the car.
