12 thefts, stabbing reported to Boaz police

Theft reports to the Boaz Police Department continue at a brisk pace in November.

Boaz police Chief Terry Davis reported 12 more thefts, including three vehicle break-ins, from Friday to Tuesday.

The biggest theft happened at You Can Store It at 167 U.S. Highway 431. The business reported the break-ins of eight storage warehouses between Saturday and Monday. The value of the stolen property amounted to about $30,000. The stolen items include men’s and women’s clothing, toys, household items and electronics.

On Saturday, an Albertville man reported the break-in of his 1992 BMW 325is while parked at the VFW post at 1451 U.S. Highway 431. The passenger’s side window was shattered and the dashboard damaged. An Eclipse DVD Player, Punch 1000-watt speaker, Pioneer 200-watt speaker and a CD were reported stolen. The items were valued at $1,860 and the damage at $400.

In another Saturday incident, a Boaz man reported the break-in of his 1990 Jeep Wrangler while parked at Wal-Mart Supercenter. A Pioneer CD player/radio, valued at $120, was reported stolen.

On Monday, a resident at 23 Pleasant Hill Cut-Off Road, reported the break-in of his vehicle and the theft of his wallet, driver’s license and other items valued at $45.

In other reports:

• A resident of Trussell Courts reported the theft of a black 1999 Honda Passport, valued at $1,500, from his home on Monday. The tag number is 50A78T4.

• An Albertville man reported the theft of $458 when someone bought merchandise at O’Reilly Auto Parts at 1971 U.S. Highway 431and charged it to his account on Friday. Davis said police have a suspect in the case.

• A Boaz woman reported the fraudulent use of her debit card at Wal-Mart Supercenter and Cowboys service station on Monday. Someone purchased $305 in merchandise and charged it to her card.

• Osh Kosh B’Gosh at 214 South McClesky St. reported the theft of $158 in clothing on Friday.

• A stop sign and post, valued at $100, were stolen from the corner of George Johnson and Pleasant Hill roads on Sunday.

• A resident of 272 Mount Vernon Homes reported the theft of cash and groceries, valued at $24, from her home on Sunday.

• Shiloh Farms Store at 2784 Beulah Road reported a gas drive-off of $20 on Friday.

• Piggly Wiggly at 10339 Alabama Highway 168 reported the theft of four 12-ounce Monster drinks and a pack of Jerky Joe’s Beef Jerky on Sunday. Dustin Madden, 20, 1070 Solitude Road, Albertville, and three juveniles from Boaz and Albertville were arrested for shoplifting. Value of the shoplifted items was $18.

• A resident of 14 Ivy St. reportedly witnessed two males dressed in black kick the door of her detached garage on Saturday. They fled when she yelled at them.

• Boaz police also received a report involving an Albertville man who said he was stabbed in the parking lot at the VFW post at 1451 U.S. Highway 431 on Saturday. Details were sketchy but the report said the victim was taken to Marshall Medical Center South, where he was treated for a stab wound to the chest and released.
