DOUGLAS — The Douglas varsity girls won for the 15th time in their last 19 games by blasting Columbia 60-38 Thursday night in the Class 4A, Area 13 Tournament at Loyd Berry Gym.
The Eagles (19-11) will take on Priceville in the finals today at 7 p.m.
Priceville advanced by whipping Fairview 76-54.
After a competitive first half, Douglas broke open Thursday’s game in the third and early fourth quarters to go up 60-28.
Douglas head coach Alan Thacker emptied his bench with six minutes remaining, and Columbia closed the game on 10-0 run.
The Eagles led 18-12, 33-21 and 52-28 at the rest stops.
Jacey Scott tossed in 18 points and Karlie Brothers 12 to propel Douglas’ attack.
Katelyn Marshall scored nine, Kaylee Buchanan six, Presley Bonds five, Dannette Sims and Amber Jones four each and Sarah Daugette two.
All-area team: Area 13’s four head coaches selected 13 players to the all-area team for the 2009-10 season.

DHS-Sardis score correction: The Eagles defeated Sardis 41-38 in overtime Jan. 30 at Loyd Berry Gym. The game was tied 35-35 at the end of regulation.
