Marshall County Sheriff Scott Walls is asking the public’s assistance in locating convicted sex offender William Carroll Franklin.

Franklin is a white male, 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing about 105 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.

According to Walls, since a previously undetected problem regarding the computer database containing Franklin’s file he has been discovered, Franklin was shown to be missing since 2005.

Walls said he and his office are making every effort to locate Franklin, who was convicted of child molestation in Gilmer County, Ga.

Walls further stated, “Everything has been done to correct the problem, and I have instituted a program of monthly checks on sex offenders in Marshall County.”

Walls asks that anyone having information regarding Franklin, whose last known address was 4389 Warrenton Road, Guntersville, and/or his whereabouts Guntersville, contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office at 582-2034.
