County Commission gives OK for road project

The Marshall County Commission approved the go-ahead for a road project that will resurface Warrenton Road from the Blount County line to Fry Gap Road.

The project will resurface about 3.2 miles, and be paid for by federal aid funds.

In other business:

• Set a speed limit of 25 mph for Empire Drive, Fairhope Drive and Fairhope Circle.

• Approved travel for employees in the engineering and appraisal departments, two EMA employees and Commissioner Bill Stricklend.

• Passed a resolution to rejoin all of the area’s chambers of commerce when those membership dues come due.

• Renewed membership in the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association.
