Reward offered in possible arson case

Published October 22, 2009

Boaz and Etowah County authorities said a reward is being offered for information regarding an Oct. 4 fire they suspect is arson.

The Boaz Police Department, Boaz Fire Department and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a residential fire that happened Oct. 4 about 10 p.m. at 321 Old Guntersville Gadsden Highway.

No injuries were reported but the unoccupied single-story home, valued at $150,000, was a complete loss, Boaz authorities said.

Information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime will be eligible for the reward.

The Boaz Police Department is asking anyone with information to call 256-593-6386 or 256-840-9726.
