Law enforcement agents raided a home on Ray Avenue in Albertville Friday morning.

Albertville police Chief Benny Womack said, “A drug task force consisting of members of the Albertville vice and narcotics unit, Albertville SWAT team, Guntersville Police detectives Mike Turner and Beau Cagle, the FBI and DEA entered the Ray Avenue residence with a search warrant shortly before 9 a.m.”

Once inside the residence they discovered two adult males, an adult female and a four-year-old child.

A search of the residence discovered drugs, money and a handgun.

Womack said, “We began receiving complaints, about eight months ago, of suspicious activity, believed to be drug related taking place at the residence.” Adding, “Approximately three months ago, believing we had sufficient evidence to do so, our vice narcotic detectives began to specifically focus an investigation on the activities at the residence. Friday’s raid was the culmination of that investigation.

Albertville vice-narcotics detective Tim Abercrombie, while unable to release the suspect’s names until the interview process was complete said all three suspects would be charged with possession of crack-cocaine and marijuana. One suspect would eventually be charged with possession of an altered firearm.

Additional charges regarding the child are possible.

Womack expressed his gratitude for the assistance of the Guntersville Police Department, the FBI and the DEA.

“It was a team effort that once again benefited our community by removing those who would attempt to profit from trafficking in illegal drugs,” he said.
