Fourth-ranked Geraldine toppled No. 5 Sand Rock 25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 25-18 in a Class 2A, Area 10 volleyball match Thursday.

The Lady Bulldogs also dispatched Hokes Bluff 25-8, 25-9.

“After playing 29 matches in three weeks — with no Saturday off — I was proud of the effort on the court today,” said Geraldine head coach Cristie Brothers.

“We’ve had a lot of minor injuries and sickness plus fatigue. It was great to end the week with all that in consideration.”

Statistical leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were:

Ali Duke, eight kills

Maura Owens and Shanea McElrath, nine kills each

Alanna Smith, 15 kills and eight blocks

Stephanie Andrews, eight aces and 28 assists

Kristen White, 14 digs
