Madison shuts down Rams; MCA triumphs

Madison Christian conquered the Beth Haven Christian Academy Rams 56-36 in varsity boys basketball action Monday night.

“We were just outplayed on the court tonight,” said Beth Haven head coach Tim Smith.

Zach Gilbert led the Rams with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. He made three steals.

Hunter Gilbert collected 12 points, four steals and three rebounds. Gabe Bloodworth finished with eight points, eight rebounds and three steals.

John Smalley added two points.

Marshall Christian turns back Bethel

The Marshall Christian Academy boys defeated Bethel Baptist School from Hartselle 25-22 on Friday at the Stallions’ gym.

Bethel led the Stallions through three quarters, but MCA outscored Bethel 8-3 in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory.

Jacob Shelton paced MCA with 13 points while Trevor Kelly netted seven.

Caleb Cody, Eddie Knight and Christopher Lang rounded out the scoring for MCA.

Bethel won the elementary game 31-13.

The Stallions’ Alex Honea topped all scorers with 11 points.
