Tractor stolen from Boaz recovered

Published January 31, 2009

A tractor stolen from the Boaz recreation department has been recovered.

Mayor Tim Walker said the Kubota L-3940 tractor, worth $35,000, was found Monday night in the Alder Springs community. The tractor was reported stolen a week earlier from Paradise Park.

“I think a deputy stumbled up and saw it going down the road, so they called” Boaz police, Walker said.

Police Chief Terry Davis said the tractor was located in the woods off Hunter Gap Road. He said police have a suspect in the case.

The city bought the tractor from Heavy Machinery and Tractor Co. in the spring of 2007. Walker said the tractor would be taken there to check for damage.
