The Albertville City Council is accepting applications for the Albertville City School Board of Education.
The council accepted the resignation of Rick Cederholm at its council meeting Monday night.
Cederholm wrote a letter to the council simply saying he did not wish to seek re-appointment.
His current appointment ends June 1.
Cederholm served one term, which is a five-year appointment.
Anyone interested in filling Cederholm’s board of education seat has until noon Feb. 26 to turn in a resume to City Clerk Phyllis Webb at City Hall.
Council President Diane McClendon said the council had not set a date for interviews, but said they will take place sometime in March.
McClendon said the council would make an appointment sometime in April.
This would allow the new board member to start going to meetings and get his or her feet wet before jumping head-first into the position.
