The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that the reward has doubled for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a Claysville murder case.
Ricky Allen Moody, 58, of Sheffield, was murdered Oct. 23 at his Claysville business, Motors & Cash, a title pawn and car sales shop on U.S. 431 near Claysville Junior High School.
“The reward has been increased from $10,000 to $20,000,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. “This reward is offered to anyone that can give information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime.”
The Sheriff’s Office had announced a $10,000 reward on Oct. 29 posted by private businesses. The additional $10,000 is also posted by private businesses, a spokesman said.
Authorities said Moody’s murder happened between 7 a.m. and noon.
Reports said a customer discovered Moody’s body inside Motors & Cash and deputies were dispatched to the scene at 11:41 a.m.
Authorities have not released a possible motive for the killing or how the victim died.
Anyone with information regarding the Moody murder is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 256-582-2034.
