Boaz resident Barbara Eubanks has just signed a contract with Tate Publishing for a second book that will be out within the next three to six months.
The book, “And the Angels Laughed,” will once again contain funny stories and anecdotes followed with devotional thoughts, scriptures and prayer suggestions. Eubanks used the same format with her first book “Humorous Happenings in Holy Places.”
Retired from teaching, the former English and mass communications teacher said she is staying busy since retirement.
“I’m the busiest retiree I know,” she said. ”But, I’m loving every minute of it.”
Eubanks is married to interim pastor, Steve Eubanks, and she spends a lot of time speaking to church and civic groups. Her humor and motivational speeches have brought laughter to many organizations that have booked her in the past. She has even set up her own Website, www.barbaraeubanks.com, to list her speaking schedule for those who are interested in hearing her speak or interested in reaching her for a booking.
“I’m spreading my horizons not only out of the county but the state as well,” said Eubanks, who has had numerous speaking engagements in Birmingham recently.
In the meantime, she has already begun working on her next book, a novel, titled “A Web Too Tight.” She feels the strong work ethic she has is what has kept her going.
“I have a lot going on, but I love it,” said Eubanks.
