MAY
• Despite the promise of rain that never showed, an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 people showed up to see Spring Bash ’09, according to Gene Pledger, the event’s co-director.
JUNE
• Marshall County suffered more storm damage due to a line of storms that came through the area, according to Anita McBurnett, director of the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency.
The anemometer at the Albertville Regional Airport recorded winds around 60 mph.
JULY
• Christopher Ingram, 43, of Gadsden, is alleged to have entered the Superior Bank on Billy Dyar Boulevard, in Boaz, around 10:40 a.m. Monday, and robbed it of an undetermined amount of money.
Within approximately one hour of the robbery, Ingram was apprehended near a Mountainboro store on U.S. 431.
AUGUST
• The annexation of Mountainboro into Boaz was official at 12:01 a.m. Aug. 14.
“We actually had a police officer who stayed down there,” Boaz Mayor Tim Walker said.
“Our police department will be using the town hall as a precinct. We’ll be staffing that day and night. Not 24-7 but we’ll be in and out throughout the day and night.”
