VESTAVIA HILLS — The Geraldine Lady Bulldogs posted a 2-2 record in the Class 2A North Central Softball Regional at Liberty Park.

Geraldine 4, Ranburne 2: The Lady Bulldogs, who finished 12-15, upset third-ranked Ranburne in their regional opener Friday morning.

Ali Duke earned the win, striking out five and walking two.

Katelyn Thackerson batted 2-for-3 and Paten Chavis 2-for-4 with one RBI to lead the Lady Bulldogs.

Lacey Murdock finished 1-for-2. Duke went 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Hannah Painter was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Caitlyn Roe batted 1-for-3 while both Ashley Pittman and Casi White went 1-for-4.

Fultondale 3, Geraldine 1: Tenth-ranked Fultondale put the Lady Bulldogs in the losers bracket Saturday morning.

Jana Formby closed 2-for-3 with a solo home run to pace Geraldine’s hitters.

Duke went 1-for-2 and Chavis 1-for-4.

Duke allowed seven hits while striking out two and walking two.

Geraldine 9, Randolph County 1: The Lady Bulldogs eliminated Randolph County on Saturday.

Geraldine collected 12 hits. Pittman led the way by going 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Both White and Thackerson batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Chavis, Painter, Roe and Murdock each finished 1-for-4. Formby contributed an RBI.

Duke and Thackerson combined to toss a two-hitter.

Duke threw six innings to get the win. She allowed one hit, struck out five and walked two.

Thackerson worked an inning, allowing one hit and one walk.

Ranburne 6, Geraldine 0: Ranburne avenged Friday’s setback by ousting the Lady Bulldogs on Saturday.

Both Murdock and White batted 1-for-2. Chavis and Painter each went 1-for-3.

Duke gave up eight hits in four innings. She fanned three and walked one.

Thackerson yielded three hits in three innings. She struck out one and walked one.

Oakman won the regional championship, beating Fultondale 2-0 in the finals.
