Boaz Mobile Police Unit to remain on site

Published September 2, 2008

The Boaz Police Mobile Command Center will remain on site at Snead State until all evacuees are back on the road to their homes.

Snead President Robert Exley noted there would be some disruption of normal school activities while the evacuees remained on campus.

“Parking will be impacted by the different emergency support vehicles and other traffic related to this,” Exley said. “We are restricting parking areas around the gym and the Student Union Building for this reason.  We will also restrict the use of the SUB and the gym as these will be used by the evacuees."

Snead State has been planning the special home opener for the new women’s volleyball team on Thursday, Sept. 4. How this game will be affected has not yet been determined, and Snead State will release any information regarding the game as soon as it’s available. People may check Snead State’s website, www.snead.edu, for information as it becomes available.

“We are going to do what we need to do, no matter how long that takes,” Exley said.
