Firearms, dolls taken from residence

Albertville police are investigating the burglary of more than $21,000 worth of firearms and dolls from a Section Line Road residence.

The burglary happened between Jan. 17 and Sunday, said Albertville police spokesman Sgt. Jamie Smith.

The victim reported a Fox 20-gauge shotgun, a Stevens 12-gauge shotgun, a muzzleloader, a 38-caliber pistol, tools, a 5-gallon bucket full of change and 12 porcelain dolls stolen.

The reported value of the items is $21,800.

In a separate case, Boaz police are investigating two Jan. 26 thefts at the cosmetology building on the Snead State Community College campus.

One incident involved the theft of an HP laptop computer, cash and a Blackberry cell phone. The reported value of the stolen merchandise is $1,100.

The other incident involved the theft of an Apple iPod Touch, valued at $300.
