Parsons set softball, hoops camps

The Snead State Community College athletics department will play host to a pair of camps in June.

The Snead State Fastpitch Softball Fundamental Skills Camp will be Tuesday through June 18 from 8 a.m. until noon at Paradise Park in Boaz.

The camp is for students in grades 3-6, and the fee is $45. Campers will receive a camp T-shirt.

The camp will feature proper fundamentals in hitting, fielding, throwing and base running; proper physical conditioning, position-to-position instruction, age and ability grouping, a positive learning environment and an experienced coaching staff.

Campers should bring cleats, a visor or cap, socks, shorts, T-shirts, sunscreen, glove, batting glove and batting helmet.

Water will be provided. Participants may bring their own drinks or snacks.

The Snead State Basketball Camp will be June 22-24 from 9 a.m. until noon at Plunkett-Wallace Gymnasium.

The camp is open for boys and girls age 5-15. Registration is $45, which includes a T-shirt.
