November a bit drier than previous 2 months

After back-to-back months well above average, precipitation readings were a bit drier in November with more than 3 inches of rain for the month in Albertville.

Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) stations in Albertville reported 3.73 inches on County Road 372; 3.55 inches at Laura Mae Lane; 3.28 inches at June Street; 3.21 inches at Hunter Gap Road; 3.09 inches at East McCord Avenue; and 2.71 inches on Alabama 205.

A Douglas station at Oakwood Village Drive reported 1.09 inches.

The Weather Channel

The Weather Channel reported almost 6 inches of rain in Albertville and Boaz for the month.

TWC reported 5.86 inches, almost an inch and a half above the average of 4.45.

TWC also reported five of 30 days in November with rain. That follows a wet September and October when each month had 18 days with rain.

The high temperature for November was 75 degrees. The average high for the month was 62. The all-time record is 85.

The low for November was 32 degrees. The average low for the month was 40. The all-time record is 7.

Other sources

Crossville’s Sand Mountain Research and Extension Center reported 3.74 inches — just under an inch and a half of the 25-year average of 5.14. The center is located at 13112 Alabama 68.
