Geraldine teams fall

IDER — Ider ended Geraldine’s eight-game winning streak Tuesday night, beating the Lady Bulldogs 63-49.

Geraldine dropped to 10-4 on the season while the Hornets evened their record at 5-5.

Ider led at all the quarter breaks — 20-12, 32-23 and 52-31.

Kristen White and Caitlyn Roe scored 11 each for the Lady Bulldogs. Paten Chavis netted 10.

Both Taylor Oliver and Kayla Beaty tossed in 14 points for the Hornets. Ashley Spurgin scored 11.

VARSITY BOYS

Ider 75, Geraldine 68: The Bulldogs (5-7) led for much of the game but couldn’t close the deal against the Hornets on Tuesday night.

Geraldine was up 18-9 and 37-26 at the first-half breaks, but Ider rallied to force a 45-45 tie at the third-quarter break.

Cory Crabtree scored 14 of Ider’s 30 fourth-quarter points.

Dylon Overdear tossed in 17, Adam Harris 15 and Mark Young 11 for the Hornets.

Wade Williams’ 16 points topped Geraldine’s attack. Tyler Malone scored 14.

The Bulldogs will play Fyffe on Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the Sand Mountain Tournament.
