Pre-teens charged with burglary

Published February 9, 2010

Albertville police took two young boys, ages 11 and 12, into custody Friday night and charged the pair with third-degree burglary and criminal mischief, a spokesman said.

“The pair allegedly entered a mobile home on Tanner Road that was under repair and vandalized the interior of the home,” said Albertville police spokesman Sgt. Jamie Smith.

“The reports stated that every window in the home, except one, was broken with additional damage done to the walls and other fixtures inside the residence.”

Smith said a relative of the property owner reportedly caught the suspects and called police.

Authorities notified the Juvenile Probation Office and released the pre-teen suspects to their parents, Smith said.

Police did not release the names of the suspects because they are juveniles.

No dollar amount was placed on the damage, according to reports.
