Boaz police probe 4 more thefts

Boaz police are investigating a burglary at a Lester Drive residence Wednesday.

A resident at 1092 Lester Drive reported the theft of a 42-inch Bravio Plasma TV, a tennis bracelet and a diamond sapphire ring. The items are valued at $4,800.

Boaz police Chief Terry Davis reported three more thefts on Wednesday and Thursday.

• A Boaz man reported the break-in of his Chevrolet C-1500 pickup on Thursday while parked at Boaz High School. Kicker speakers and a Kicker amplifier were stolen. The value of the items is $1,100, in addition to $300 worth of damage to the pickup.

• Kabco Builders, at 1300 Industrial Blvd., reported the break-in of a vending machine on Wednesday. About $50 worth of chips, candy and other snacks were stolen from the machine. Damage to the building and machine is estimated at $565.

• Dr. Michael Barker’s office, at 222 South Main St., reported the theft of a nitrous tank, valued at $350, from the business on Wednesday.

• A resident at 146 Mount Vernon Homes reported an attempted break-in at his home on Wednesday. He said someone tried to enter and broke the handle off a screen door. Nothing was reported missing but damage to the property is reportedly about $15.
