CAREER SKILLS TRAINING. Snead State Community College in Boaz is accepting students for Home Health Aide training. Home Healthcare Aides assist patients in their homes by focusing on their specific health and personal needs. Emphasis is on giving personal care in a client's home, communications, working with ill persons, basic human needs, eldercare, nutrition, special diets, and home management. Home Healthcare Aides also work in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, home care, long term care facilities, hospice and assisted living facilities. In addition to the responsibilities of a Home Healthcare Aide, this program will prepare students to sit for the National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Training is free for Dislocated Workers (RIF, layoff, unemployed, underemployed, job relocated) applicants. Circumstances are evaluated on an individual basis.
